Temporary closure of Mapsons Lane, Birdham 20th July 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that from the date specified below, West Sussex
County Council has temporarily closed to all traffic, Mapsons Lane, Birdham CP, in the
Chichester District under Section 14(2) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, on
Mapsons Lane for a distance approx 723 metres.
The temporary closure is scheduled to commence on 20th July 2026 for up to 5 days (it is
estimated to be completed on 24th July 2026) and is required for the safety of the public and
workforce while Clancy Group for Scottish and Southern Power Distribution undertake 24hr/day
road closures for trial hole works, monitoring medium pressure and high pressure gas mains in
vicinity.
Road closed between the junctions with Sidlesham Lane and Lockgate Road.
The restriction will be in place 24hrs a day
